MJ4D Browser Troubleshooting Guide
Overview
If MJ4D is running slowly, not loading correctly, displaying outdated information, or experiencing graphical issues, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Clear your browser cache.
- Enable hardware acceleration.
- Restart your browser.
- Verify that you are using a supported and up-to-date browser.
Step 1: Clear Your Browser Cache
Clearing cached files forces your browser to download the latest version of MJ4D and can resolve issues caused by outdated or corrupted application data.
Quick Shortcut
For most browsers on Windows:
Ctrl + Shift + Delete
This opens the browser’s Clear Browsing Data dialog.
After clearing the cache, restart your browser and reopen MJ4D.
Browser-Specific Instructions
For more detailed information on how to clear your cache you can check out the Official Documentation:
Google Chrome - Clear cache & cookies
Microsoft Edge - View and delete browser history in Microsoft Edge
Step 2: Enable Hardware Acceleration
If MJ4D loads but the 3D viewer is slow, unresponsive, displays visual artifacts, or presents a blank rendering area, ensure hardware acceleration is enabled.
Hardware acceleration allows your browser to use your computer’s Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to improve rendering performance and stability.
Browser-Specific Instructions
Google Chrome
To enable graphics acceleration in Chrome:
- Open Chrome Settings.
- Navigate to System.
- Enable Use graphics acceleration when available.
- Restart Chrome.
Microsoft Edge
To enable graphics acceleration in Edge:
- Open Edge Settings.
- Navigate to System and Performance.
- Enable Use graphics acceleration when available.
- Restart Edge.
Verify Hardware Acceleration
If you wish to verify the settings are enabled, you can verify that your browser is using your GPU and confirm that “Canvas”, “WebGL” and “OpenGL” graphic features are enabled by navigating to the follow urls within the address bar.
Chrome
chrome://gpu
Edge
edge://gpu
Review the graphics information and confirm hardware acceleration is enabled for “Canvas”, “OpenGL” and “WebGL”
